About Shaker Mediation Center
Shaker Mediation Center was founded by Matt Mennes in 2007 when Matt, an Ohio native, returned home after living in California for 7 years. During his time in California, Matt developed an expertise in alternative dispute resolution, especially arbitration and mediation. In addition to practicing mediation and arbitration, Matt served as the Director of Arbitration for the New York Stock Exchange’s program in San Francisco (NYSE Arca). Prior to that, Matt worked as a staff attorney for the National Association of Securities Dealers (NASD) in their San Francisco dispute resolution department. Matt also worked as a case manager at JAMS, the nation’s largest private dispute resolution provider.
Matt has had over 150 hours of certified mediation training in both California and Ohio. Matt is an active member of many mediation and legal organizations including Association for Conflict Resolution (ACR), Mediation Association of Northeast Ohio (MANO) and The State Bar of California.
Matt formed Shaker Mediation Center out of a passion for helping people in conflict find a better way to quickly and effectively resolve their disputes. As an attorney, Matt has seen first hand how litigation can prolong disputes, while significantly raising the costs and destroying the relationships of the people involved. Shaker Mediation Center is dedicated to helping parties resolve their disputes in a timely, cost-effective and lasting way. Shaker Mediation Center is also dedicated to helping parties resolve their disputes in a safe, private and dignified way.
